I Moshiach as Shliach
At the beginning of the International כינוס השלוחים - the representatives of the Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Schneerson, the leader of the generation- it is appropriate to state the new focus in their service most significant in recent times. This is to accept Moshiach with the true and complete redemption.
As oft stated, there is an unchanging common denominator in the mission of all Jews as Shluchim of Hashem- “I was created to serve my Maker”- which is especially applicable to the Shluchim of the leader of the generation. It is a common denominator that is completely unalterable.
However, sporadically there is a new emphasis in the mission. A special mission is given that becomes the ‘gateway’ through which all matters ascend.
This is especially true now, since this new mission is a comprehensive, essential innovation that is not merely another detail or principle but rather is the mainstay issue. Truly, it is the most all-embracing issue in all of Judaism- the preparation for the coming of Moshiach- which contains within it all the details of the service of emissaries.
As has been repeated many times recently, the Sages proclaimed that “all the predestined dates have passed,” -and the Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Schneerson, the leader of the generation, proclaimed that people have already repented and completed all divine service, even polishing the buttons. Based on this, everyone is now standing ready to receive the righteous Moshiach. Now, the divine service is to truly accept Moshiach in actuality.
The purpose of the current International Emissaries Conference is to formulate good resolutions in order to implement them in actual practice. People must ascertain how to achieve the special mission of the current time- the acceptance of Moshiach.
An essential relationship exists between Moshiach and the mission of the Shluchim who have gathered for the International Kinus Hashluchim. This can be understood by explaining the relationship between Moshiach himself and the concept and definition of being an emissary...
IV Welcome Moshiach
The Shluchim are long past fulfilling the beginning of spreading Torah, Judaism, and Chassidut and long past the middle and have even completed this mission, as the Rebbe, the leader of this generation, has disclosed. Nonetheless, the redemption still has not come in actuality. It must be said that something is still left to do in order to actually bring the redemption.
It is known that “in every generation there is an individual born from the seed of Judah who is worthy to be the Moshiach.” “One who from his righteousness is worthy to be the redeemer and when the time will come G-d will reveal Himself to him and send him.” According to the proclamation of the leader of the generation, the ultimate emissary in the generation, the Moshiach of the generation, all divine service is completed. “Please send through the one You will send”- the mission of the Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Schneerson, is beginning to be fulfilled.
Therefore, the only thing left is to tangibly greet Moshiach so he can fulfill his mission in actuality and take all the people out of Exile.
This is especially emphasized when it is the Sabbath in which the emissaries’ conference takes place- when the Torah portion discusses Abraham sending Eliezer for the marriage of Isaac and Rebecca. This empowers all missions, especially of Moshiach.
In addition, this Sabbath blesses the upcoming Jewish month of Kislev. Kislev’s energy is redemption- being the time when the inner dimension of Torah was given. Just as the revealed Torah was given in the third of the summer months, Sivan, the inner dimension was given in the third of the winter months, Kislev- the season of rain.
Rain symbolizes the progression toward Moshiach. Just as rain was water on earth refined to a gaseous state that ascends to form rain clouds, so too, man’s service is the utilization and transformation of the physicality of this world to elevate it to a higher spiritual reality. “And a mist will rise up from the earth.” Through the spiritual service symbolized by the waters transcending to mist, what was originally "on the face of the waters” -is revealed. "The spirit of G-d hovers over the face of the waters.” "This is the spirit of Moshiach.”
Together with the high-level reality of Moshiach being the first primordial vision of G-d, Moshiach must also be a soul in a physical body. Moshiach exists within the world to the degree that he has enemies to fight. Specifically, “from the earth” is the power of Ban, Moshiach as a soul in a body. Then the physicality moves from coarseness to materialism, and from materialism it becomes “a mist,” i.e., total refinement, the element of the atmosphere, the most purified element, which soars higher and higher, even more elevated than “The spirit of G-d hovers over the face of the waters. -This is the spirit of King Moshiach.” Moshiach as a soul in a body is elevated beyond Moshiach as a soul prior to creation. This is because there becomes the revival of the soul of the Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Schneerson, in true actuality as a soul in a body and not merely as a "spirit … hovering over the face of the water.”
This is a lesson to be taken now, at the opening of the International Conference of Emissaries. First and foremost, it must be proclaimed that all the details in the mission of spreading Torah, Judaism, and Chassidut outward must be penetrated with one goal, the acceptance of Moshiach.
As emphasized by the theme of the conference, "'all the days of your life' to bring to the days of Moshiach,” all divine service, each day of your life, in every detail and hour of the day, needs to be permeated with “to bring to the days of Moshiach.” Not merely to include, as in the normative lexicon the word choice would be 'to include,'for this implies that the emissary is waiting for Moshiach to come, and then he will benefit from Moshiach, but rather ‘"to bring’"– the emissary does that which is dependent on him "to bring" to the days of Moshiach. He completely invests himself in his charge to spread Judaism and connect mankind to Gd with the overarching intent that everything he is doing should truly lead to the complete revelation of Moshiach.
Days in the plural implies the continuum of days extending through all the stages within the redemption.
Not only the beginning of one day, but rather days in plural. Not only when Moshiach is "the assumed Moshiach,” but rather all the days of Moshiach, including the completion of "the absolute Moshiach.”
The simple intent of this is that from this conference, every emissary must make positive resolutions how he must prepare himself and all the people in his area to accept Moshiach by sharing with them the concept of Moshiach, as it is explained in the Written and Oral Law in a manner that will be accepted to each person according to his comprehension. This includes learning about Moshiach and redemption especially in a way that uses all of the intellectual faculties.
Since this is the divine service of the time, it is relevant to every Jew without exception at all to reach out to others to accept Moshiach, knowing everyone is capable of absorbing this message.
May it be G-d’s will that as a result of all the emissaries together immersing themselves in fulfilling their job completely with all of their ten soul powers, the complete revelation of the primary emissary, the true emissary, together with his ten soul powers, will immediately occur. “Please send through the one You will send.” This is the emissary of the generation, the Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Schneerson.
As it was in the generation before him, the Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Schneerson, was united with his father as he was his only son, in a way that there is the completion of all ‘seven branches of the menorah,’ all the generations.
This is the main point, since all service is completed. Every emissary should go to the ultimate Sender, G-d, and beseech, “I have done my mission, and now the time has come for You, G-d, to do Your mission." As is known, whatever G-d instructs, He does. This means that G-d is an Emissary, and His Essence, together with His ten Attributes, forms the righteous Moshiach. "G-d, “'please send through the one You will send,”' and send Moshiach in actuality!”
Perhaps G-d wants to hold the Jewish people in Exile for another moment because of the great pleasure derived from the service in Exile. But a person screams, “Whatever the master of the house tells you, you must do, except when he tells you to leave.” Whatever the Master G-d tells must be done, except when he says, “Out!” People cannot remain another second in a situation of “out,” out from Father’s table. Everyone requests and demands from G-d, “Please send through the one You will send.”
In the beginning of this year, "the one You will send," bring already the redemption. Together with the completion of the mission at the end of Likutei Torah, there is immediately the completion of the marriage, Song of Songs, of the Jewish people and G-d. Especially through people accepting the good resolution to learn all of Torah Or and Likutei Torah, the drawing down of redemption will be hastened even more.
This will be in a manner of a woman encompassing a man. G-d Himself will acknowledge and give thanks, so to speak, to the people, one by one, for each one’s service, even if it was not completely perfect.
G-d will lead all the Jewish people to the holy land, to Jerusalem the holy city, to the holy mountain, to the third holy temple and the main matter– immediately!
